Soft Autumn vs True Autumn
Both are warm autumn seasons, which is why they are often confused. The difference is how saturated the colors on you can be.
Soft Autumn
Soft Autumn is warm but muted and low in contrast. Colors on you should look blended and slightly dusty: sage, camel, dusty rose, warm taupe, muted teal.
True Autumn
True Autumn is warm and richer. Colors can be fuller and more saturated: rust, pumpkin, olive, mustard, deep teal, tomato red.
How to decide
- Hold a muted sage and a vivid olive near your face. If sage looks calm and healthy, lean Soft. If olive looks richer and more alive, lean True.
- Look at your contrast. Low contrast between hair, skin and eyes points to Soft. Medium contrast points to True.
- Check which feels easier to wear: powdery and blended tones, or rich saturated tones.
