Skin undertone test

Use a photo of your face or wrist in daylight to see whether your undertone is warm, cool or neutral.

Your photo is analysed in your browser

  • Use soft daylight near a window, not direct sun or yellow indoor light.
  • Face the camera straight on with no filters.
  • Remove makeup if you can, and pull hair back from your forehead.

Backup check without a camera

  1. Look at the veins on your inner wrist in daylight: green suggests warm, blue or purple suggests cool, a mix suggests neutral.
  2. Hold gold and silver jewelry against your skin: gold glowing means warm, silver glowing means cool, both fine means neutral.
  3. Compare a pure white and a cream paper next to your face: white flattering means cool, cream flattering means warm.

You can also photograph the inside of your wrist in daylight. The tool then reads that skin color.
